Will I receive a diploma or certificates when I finish training?

The type of document you receive after you complete training depends on the type of course you choose to take. A diploma for completing CDL training is normally only received from a higher education institution such as a community college or university and usually requires the student to take several courses and have a certain number of credit hours. It can sometimes take months or even years to complete these programs.

Certificates are issued from all types of programs, and you should receive some type of documentation stating that you have successfully passed a CDL training program. However, when you receive this documentation varies from school to school. If you attend a company-sponsored training program and are required to sign an employment contract, you will more than likely not receive your certificate until after the term of your contract has been completed. If you go to a school owned by a trucking company, you may receive a certificate only stating that you have completed that carrier’s training requirements
