In a unique partnership with the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, C1 Truck Driver Training in Little Rock has agreed to become a Diamond Sponsor of the national Newspapers in Education program.

The Newspapers in Education program provides newspapers at a discounted rate to teachers in kindergarten through 12th grade to promote classroom literacy and increase students’ knowledge of current events. Newspapers in Education also offers curriculum materials and training workshops for teachers throughout the school year to help enhance the education of their students. Newspapers are a valuable learning tool for students of any age because they are relevant to every subject and promote daily reading habits.

Through C1’s sponsorship, students at four Arkansas schools will enjoy the benefits of having newspapers in their classrooms. Academics Plus in Maumelle, Oak Grove Elementary and Harris Elementary in North Little Rock, and Sylvan Hills High School in Sherwood will all receive the Arkansas Democrat Gazette for the 2007-2008 school year thanks to the generosity of C1 Truck Driver Training in Little Rock. Each school will receive 25 newspapers every weekday for the entire school year.

C1 Truck Driver Training knows that the key to building a strong foundation for America starts by educating our children. Through its involvement with the Newspapers in Education program, C1 hopes to help enhance the learning environment for Arkansas children of all ages and to promote literacy throughout the state.
